Digital Media Production Junior McKayla Wymer interns at WSMV in Nashville

DMP junior McKayla Wymer is full of excitement and profesionalism. McKayla has on-air presence experience for WRDL radio and AUTV television. She has written numerous articles for The Collegian newspaper. She is a fine athlete as a polevaulter for AU's track team. She produces and hosts her own weekly podcast show. But her great accomplishment is found in her recent internship with WSMV television in Nashville, Tennesee. McKayla got to operate a studio camera, floor direct, and record some on-camera studio segments. A truly wonderful time for her!

On Sunday April 19th, Journalism and Digital Media department students, staff, faculty and co-curricular media organizations were honored at the 39th Annual Leadership and Service Awards event. Here are the nominees and winners: WRDL 88.9 was the winner of the Student Organization of the Year Kelly Meyer was the winner of the Emerging Faculty Member of the year Dashia Johnson won the Community and Belonging award JDM nominees were----John Skrada, Derek Wood, Kelly Meyer, Dana Krukovska, Aubrey Wood, Drake Crumley, Taylor Davidson, Chaden Sampson,and Joe Monteith. Both AUTV and The Collegian were nominees for Student Organization of the Year.

JDM Senior Lauren Gulden starts career at NBC 4 Columbus

It is not often that a current senior gets a full-time professional media position. But Lauren Gulden is not your average senior media student. Lauren is a four year anchor (and current Executive News Producer) for AUTV television. She is a former News Editor for The Collegian newspaper and a four year on-air personality for WRDL radio. Recently, she was offered a News Producer position with NBC 4 in Columbus, Ohio. She accepted and will begin her career in May....just a few days after she graduates with a Bachelor of Arts in Digital Media Journalism. The JDM department wishes her well and good luck.
