Digital Media Journalism major Kaymen Ziegler is used to performing for an audience. She is a decorated and experienced dance competition person. In fact, she joined AU's Dance team this year as a first year undergraduate. All of this experience will pay off for Kaymen as she made her debut as the Friday AUTV Sports Break program anchor. Digital Media Journalism major Elleni Miller grew up in Ashland, Ohio. Little did she know that one day she would be anchoring a local newscast for the campus/community television station. On Friday September 18th, Elleni launched her media career as the weekly Friday anchor for the AUTV News Break program. News Break is AUTV's award-winnng daily news program and it airs on both Channel 220 HD on Armstrong Cable and on the AUTV YouTube channel. You can watch her debut telecast here .

60 years is a long time to rise from an upstart college radio station to an internationally-recognized award-winning one. Recently, the state of Ohio felt the same way. Senator Jon Hustead and Lt. Governor Jim Tressel met with WRDL Station Manager Derek Wood and station political correspondent Aidan Haggard to honor WRDL's 60 years of excellent service to both the campus and the greater community. Some things are just meant to be. For junior Digital Media Production major Aislyn Allgeyer that meant a transfer from two former universities before she enrolled this fall at Ashland University. Aislyn, who is also a member of AU's nationally ranked stunt team,is a dedicated person who exudes both happiness and confidence. It is a long way from Ghana to Ashland, Ohio. For Digital Media Production major Prince Benjamin the trip from his native land to Ashland University is paying off. Prince made his debut as the weekly Wednesday anchor for AUTV News Break . He is already operating a game camera for JDM's AU footbal broadcasts and soon he will have an on-air radio shift for 88.9 WRDL . You can watch his first news show here .

First year Digital Media Production major Bryan Martin has hit the ground running. In his first two weeks at Ashland University, Bryan has called soccer games and studio hosted the recent AU football game for WRDL 88.9 FM . On his third week, Bryan became the Monday anchor for AUTV's S ports Break program. His first show can be viewed here .

First year Digital Media Journalism major Eliana Homoelle has a rich background in public speaking. For the past few years, Eliana has participated in numerous high school speech competitions,including the Christian Communicators of America.In her third week on the Ashland University campus, she steps into the role of Monday anchor for AUTV's News Break program. WRDL 88.9 FM and the Ashland Source have a strong partnership. Each media entity shares stories with the other. This union produces a wider, more converged coverage of Ashland community news. In this September 10th episode,Early Bird's Word co-hosts Payton Whaley and Macy Gannon are joined by Ashland Source reporters Hayden Gray and Abby Hiday. May 2026 Digital Media Journalism graduate Madison Ferrell is putting her media skills to good use in her first professional job. Madison is a Marketing and Public Relations Specialist and Multimedia Storyteller with Wooster (Ohio) Community Hospital. She is an anchor and reporter for a weekly social media video series that features news, events and updates for the hospital. As the creating producer, Madison is using the techniques she learned in the Journalism and Digital Media program at Ashland University.

A new school year is underway. That means hours of recording and producing live programs for AUTV , Ashland University's student-managed television station. From producing the daily News Break and Sports Break programs to the AUTV News show to The Doug Geiser Show and Courtside to the live Election 26 converged telecast, AUTV requires astute and dedicated leadership. This year's Executive Board will fulfill this task. The board consists of Miles Irvin (General Manager), Chloe Kovinchick (Executive News Producer), Bryce Gatten (Executive Sports Producer), Payton O'Toole (Program Director), Stephanie Holubetz (Production Director), Aubrey Wood (Social Media and Promotions Manager), Jack Yeaste (Creative Services Director), and Chaden Sampson (Creative Services Assistant Director).

Digital Media Journalism major and senior Payton O'Toole has a wonderful experience interning this past summer with LPN Lancaster Online! At LPN!, Payton covered multiple sports for her reports. She describes her experience as fulfilling: I got the amazing opportunity to be the sports intern at LNP | Lancaster Online! In Lancaster, PA, I spent 12 weeks learning from different reporters and editors about journalism. I got to cover high school state track and field, a 4-week long baseball tournament and meet some professional athletes! I'm so thankful for this opportunity and I miss all my coworkers from LNP!

Digital Media Journalism major and senior Dashia Lanai recently completed an internship with the Akron RubberDucks. The RubberDucks are a AA minor league affiliate of the Cleveland Guardians. Dashia was excited to earn this internship, as she describes her experience. "During Summer 2026 I interned with the Akron RubberDucks as a Media Relations/Social Media Intern. I was able to gain hands-on experience creating social media content, developing posts that connect with fans, and learning how to strengthen a team's brand and relationship with its audience. I also got to grow my love for sports videography, especially shooting games on Sony cameras. My internship advisors Rebecca Krenzar and Jimmy Farmer were amazing at growing me throughout the summer and were the best mentors ever!
