JDM Welcomes 15 new students for Fall 2026

The Ashland University Journalism and Digital Media program welcomes 15 outstanding new students for the Fall 2026 semester. The newcomers are: Aislyn Allegeyer, Avery Alves, Prince Amoakwa, Zach Ayers, Hutson Copenhaver, Jaxson Dunivan, Emma Falkenberg, Bella Fox, Braylon Goon, Rae Anna Hess, Eliana Homoelle, Jara Lyons, Bryan Martin, Elleni Miller and Kaymen Ziegler.

Jason Basile starts as sports writer for The Record-Argus newspaper

Recent Digital Media Production graduate Jason Basile has returned to his roots in Pennsylvania with a new job. Jason will begin as a sports writer for the Greenville Record-Argus newspaper. At the Record-Argus , Jason will report on local high school and college athletics. At Ashland University, he was sports reporter for The Collegian , a sports anchor for the AUTV Sports Break program, and a game play-by-play announcer for WRDL 88.9 FM.

Digital Media Journalism Junior Aubrey Wood interns at WTOV News9

It is not often that you get to intern at the television station you grew up watching and loving. Some might call it a dream. For Digital Media Journalism major Aubrey Wood, the dream came true this summer. She got to intern at WTOV News9 in Steubenville, Ohio, which is just 20 miles from her home in Cadiz, Ohio. Aubrey described her passion of becoming a news and feature journalist enhanced by this experience. While she is sad to leave the internship, she is looking forward to her roles as Design Editor and News Reporter for The Collegian and Social Media Manager and News Anchor for AUTV this fall semester.

3rd Annual Digital Media Creation Camp: A Smashing Success

On Monday August 3rd, the JDM department sponsored its 3rd Annual Digital Media Creation Camp. The camp was attended by 36 middle school and high school students. The campers worked with JDM faculty and students to learn about and create stories in digital audio production, digital video production, film making, broadcast writing and on-camera performance. The students had a fun time time, as they explored the vast nature of creative media endeavors. Plans are already underway for next year's DMC camp.
