3rd Annual Digital Media Creation Camp: A Smashing Success

On Monday August 3rd, the JDM department sponsored its 3rd Annual Digital Media Creation Camp. The camp was attended by 36 middle school and high school students. The campers worked with JDM faculty and students to learn about and create stories in digital audio production, digital video production, film making, broadcast writing and on-camera performance. The students had a fun time time, as they explored the vast nature of creative media endeavors. Plans are already underway for next year's DMC camp.

WRDL, JDM Faculty, Staff and Students win 2026 AU Leadership and Service Awards

On Sunday April 19th, Journalism and Digital Media department students, staff, faculty and co-curricular media organizations were honored at the 39th Annual Leadership and Service Awards event. Here are the nominees and winners: WRDL 88.9 was the winner of the Student Organization of the Year Kelly Meyer was the winner of the Emerging Faculty Member of the year Dashia Johnson won the Community and Belonging award JDM nominees were----John Skrada, Derek Wood, Kelly Meyer, Dana Krukovska, Aubrey Wood, Drake Crumley, Taylor Davidson, Chaden Sampson,and Joe Monteith. Both AUTV and The Collegian were nominees for Student Organization of the Year.
